Email and web forms

Patient facing email is not recommended to prevent the risk of email being used during a medical emergency.

Web forms are a good way to manage non-urgent demand for workflows such as registrations, change of details, insurance requests and feedback.

The NHS England guidance Email and text message communications helps show practice staff how to use email to communicate with patients and services users.

Consider

Is email used appropriately to prevent medically related communication?

Is the impact of inappropriate use of email understood?

Are webforms used for transactional information, such as registration or change of address?
