Improving GP services: Commissioners and patient choice

This report presents the findings of our review of how GP services are working for patients, with a specific focus on the role of choice and competition. Our review drew on a variety of sources of evidence. We commissioned a survey of 3,200 patients, interviewed 25 GP providers and spoke to and gathered information from NHS England, CQC and other stakeholders.
The scenarios show how GPs can work together to benefit patients within the framework of rules regarding patient choice and competition.
