Recurrent epistaxis in children

In this third of four podcasts focused on paediatric ear nose and throat (ENT) conditions, doctors Lisa and Sara are back with paediatric ENT consultant, Dr Simone Schaefer, to discuss recurrent epistaxis (nosebleeds) in children.

In the podcast they cover important differentials, including a rare condition that can present predominantly in teenage boys and how to spot the signs so it isn’t missed. They also discuss options for management and why the vast majority of patients can safely be managed in the community.

Finally they discuss when a case should be referred to an ENT team.
