Physical wellbeing

Health and wellbeing can be described as the achievement and maintenance of physical fitness and mental stability. This is a positive definition of health and wellbeing.

Physical health and mental wellbeing are interlinked, and it is important we understand that good physical health contributes to good mental wellbeing, and vice versa.

Our experience and perception of our mental and physical health is the biggest single factor that explains, on average, how we rate our wellbeing.

Good health is about the mind as well as the body. Feeling physically fit and feeling good about ourselves means we can achieve more of the things we want to do in life.

The best way to stay healthy – physically and mentally – is by learning how to take care of ourselves, and about the support you can access to help with any health problem you might already have.
