Summary
Develop your skills and tackle common challenges in a confidential, supportive environment.
Practice managers working in general practice can enhance their skills with the help of a new group mentorship programme.
The programme will focus on six key areas of development under the guidance of experienced practice manager and trainer, Luan Stewart.
It will cover the following topics:
- Juggling Time – explore effective time management, delegation, and balancing responsibilities
- Finance – from understanding GMS statements to increasing profitability, bring your finance-related questions for discussion
- HR Situations – a safe space for HR-related queries, covering everything from partnership issues to disciplinary matters
- Health and Safety/Estates in General Practice – guidance on estates management, risk assessments, emergency planning and health and safety compliance
- Safeguarding for Managers – understand your role in safeguarding within the practice and share any concerns in a supportive setting
- Resilience – tips and tools to build resilience and maintain well-being in the face of professional challenges
The programme is aimed at assistant practice managers with an accession plan to become a practice manager within the next 18 months, practice managers with less than two years in post, and practice managers who have recently returned from maternity or long-term sick leave.
Organised by Greater Manchester Primary Care Provider Board’s GP Excellence Programme, the closing date for expressions of interest is Friday, 1 August. Successful applicants will be notified after 11 August.
There’s still chance to register for Cohort 2, starting in October, and participants are asked to commit to six 90-minute interactive sessions via MS Teams.
