Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, will talk about his vision for the future health of the region.

Colleagues will hear from the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, at this year’s Primary Care Summit on Wednesday, 8 October.

As the event’s keynote speaker, Andy will talk about The Prevention Demonstrator – his vision for the future health of Greater Manchester.

The event has been organised by Greater Manchester Primary Care Provider Board (GMPCB), the most mature primary care collaborative in the country.

More than 200 guests are expected to attend from community pharmacy, dentistry, general practice and optometry, as well as representatives from the Voluntary Community Faith and Social Enterprise sector (VCFSE).

Based around the theme ‘Primary care in partnership: celebrating 10 Years, setting the vision for the future’, the event will feature a celebration of primary care collaboration since the PCB was formed in 2015.

Delegates can take part in interactive sessions on working together in the future, neighbourhoods, and concepts in the NHS 10 Year Health Plan.

A ‘fireside chat’ about prevention will include views from Mark Fisher, Chief Executive, NHS GM, Warren Heppolette, Chief Officer for Strategy, Innovation and Population Health, NHS GM and Viren Mehta, Vice Chair, Greater Manchester General Practice Provider Board (GPB) and GP Federation lead.

There will also be a chance to network and chat to colleagues from each of the four primary care sub-boards.

The event, at The Village Hotel Ashton, is fully booked but you can follow the day’s activity on PCB social media channels X and LinkedIn, plus the PCB website.
