GP partners flock to join appraisal training

Summary

A new webinar will help them conduct appraisals for practice managers.

A new webinar will help GP partners carry out appraisals for non-clinical managers within their practice.

The session will support them in conducting appraisals specifically for practice managers, and can also be applied to other managerial roles.

The role of practice manager is complex, varied, and essential for the successful running of any GP practice. However, many PMs report feeling undervalued and misunderstood by their employers.

This training will give GP partners more understanding about the breadth of the role, enable them to clarify what they can expect from their PM, as well as teaching them the skills and structure for a solid practice manager appraisal.

Participants will learn how to effectively structure a feedback discussion that can be used for any part of the performance management cycle.

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.

The Appraisal Training for GP Partners webinar takes place on Friday, 30 January, from 1pm to 3pm, via MS Teams and is fully booked.

Leading the session will be Robyn Clark, Managing Partner and Director of the Institute of General Practice Management.

Robyn is an experienced practice manager, with a HR background. She is passionate about employee engagement, coaching and mentoring.

The webinar has been organised by Greater Manchester Primary Care Provider Board’s GP Excellence programme.
