Conflict training for general practice

Summary

The latest round of conflict training for general practice is available to book.

Following the successful delivery of the GP Excellence ‘Responding Well to Conflict’ 2025/26 training programme, we are pleased to confirm that the programme will continue into 2026/27.

This training offers valuable support for both non-clinical, front-line staff and managers who are helping their teams to navigate conflict in the workplace.

Responding Well to Conflict – for frontline staff

This online training has been developed by GPs and practice managers for non-clinical colleagues working on the front line in primary care.

The training session is split into two halves, with the first half focusing on the daily encounters many of our front-line colleagues experience when dealing with patients, helping to shed light on why conflict may occur, even when you are doing everything right.

The second half has been designed to equip you with the tools to de-escalate a situation and minimise the psychological impact that this type of conflict can cause:

Responding Well to Conflict – for managers

Delivered by experienced trainer and practice manager, Clare Richardson, this session is specifically designed for managers working in general practice.

The webinar will explore effective ways to support your staff when they face conflict in the workplace, including instances of abuse from patients.
