Front-line dental colleagues are invited to book their place on the next round of ‘Responding Well to Conflict’ training.
Taking place in January via MS Teams, the session aims to help participants understand why conflict occurs, develop practical skills to manage challenging situations effectively, and better understand and manage the psychological impact of abuse.
The training is designed for front-line dental staff, including practice managers, as well as anyone interested in developing their understanding of conflict and how to respond effectively.
The two-hour on-line session will be delivered by Mukhtar Ahmad, Greater Manchester Primary Care Provider Board (GMPCB) Dental Specialist Adviser and Dominic Anderson, GMPCB Programme Manager and Wellbeing Lead, and will cover:
- Why conflict is increasing, including the impact of COVID-19
- How our beliefs and values can unintentionally contribute to conflict
- Recognising avoidable and unavoidable conflict
- Understanding clinically induced behaviours
- Exploring why conflict affects us personally and emotionally
- Understanding the impact of stress and identifying helpful coping strategies
- Recognising the signs of escalation
- Practical techniques for de-escalating conflict
- Signposting to appropriate sources of support
Book your place: Monday 18 January, 12.30pm to 2.30pm
Following a successful pilot earlier this year, the Responding Well to Conflict training was adapted for dental providers as part of the Dental Excellence Programme, managed by Greater Manchester Dental Provider Board (DPB), a sub-board of GMPCB.
