‘Leading Teams Through Change’ – Greater Manchester Primary Care Leadership Programme
Greater Manchester Primary Care Provider Board (PCB) has partnered with the NHS Confederation to provide a bespoke leadership programme for general practice.
‘Leading Teams Through Change’ is designed for general practice clinicians and managers who are in a position to implement change within their practice or neighbourhood. This can include GPs, nurses, practice managers, Primary Care Network (PCN) managers and ARRS (Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme) roles.
No previous leadership experience is required, however candidates should be enthusiastic about developing change in general practice and delivering integrated care.
Potential candidates are asked to complete an application form and return it to info.gmpcb@nhs.net by Tuesday 5 November, 2024.
The application form requires candidates to provide the locality where they are based, a brief outline of why they would like to join the programme and the leadership challenges they would like to focus on as a primary care leader.
The programme is an excellent opportunity for anyone already established in a leadership role, anyone who has recently stepped into a leadership role, or anyone aspiring to be a future leader in primary care. For example, successful applicants will have the opportunity to practically explore how to build conditions for team collaboration, work across networks and organisational boundaries, and best navigate conflict.
As primary care leaders, the programme will allow applicants to focus on local challenges and complexities and there will be opportunities to share best practice and ideas among programme colleagues.
With up to 35 places available, the offer is open to all GM localities. The overall aim is to support participants to develop their leadership skills within the complex, changing landscape of primary care and the wider context of the integrated care system.
The programme launches on 28 November, 2024, and will run for a period of four months through a mixture of virtual and face-to-face sessions across four full learning days and online sessions lasting one to two hours. The time commitment is approximately one day a month.
