Summary
Patients and providers can learn more about Pharmacy First, blood pressure checks and pharmacy contraception services.
A new website has been launched to help patients learn about the clinical services provided by community pharmacies across England.
The website will also make it easier for other primary care providers – from general practice, dentistry and optometry – to guide their patients to the services on offer.
The communitypharmacy.org.uk website provides information on three NHS services:
- Pharmacy First Service
- Blood Pressure Check Service
- Pharmacy Contraception Service
There is a separate webpage for each of the services, providing more detailed information, and you can use the search function to find a local pharmacy that offers the service.
The website also explains that patients have a right to choose which pharmacy they use to receive NHS services.
Providers in Greater Manchester should have received an email informing them of the website launch, and supplied with some text and a link to promote the resource to their patients and customers via their own website.
The website has been developed by Community Pharmacy England, which represents all NHS community pharmacies in the country.
