PCB Chief Officer to expand role from November

Summary

Dr Tracey Vell MBE leaves Health Innovation Manchester to devote more time to the PCB.

Dr Tracey Vell MBE will be expanding her role as Chief Officer of Greater Manchester Primary Care Provider Board (PCB).

She currently splits her time between the PCB and Health Innovation Manchester (HInM), as their Medical Director, but has decided to focus all her time and effort on primary care providers.

Tracey said: “I have been at HinM for six years and built a clinical office to give timely insight to all innovation.

“I feel now that my time needs to be spent back in primary care, with providers, as we embark on many exciting new programmes and amidst a changing landscape in primary care.”

Janet Crofts, Managing Director of the PCB, leaves the organisation for pastures new at the end of October.

Luvjit Kandula, Chair of the PCB, said: “It is an important and exciting time for the PCB and the primary care family to strengthen our primary care voice and support innovation and transformation. We will be working closely with NHS Greater Manchester to expand the role of primary care further, to support the ‘left shift’ and prevention ambitions.

“Having more support from Tracey is a positive move for us to strengthen our leadership and the innovation work required to support our patients and local communities.

“I would like to take this opportunity to extend my deepest thanks to Janet for her hard work and commitment to primary care over the years, and in particular for being such a driving force in raising the profile of the PCB and championing primary care provider boards.”
