Places available for two general practice webinars in September

Summary

Join experienced practice manager, Luan Stewart, for insights into finance and how to handle crisis situations.

There are still places available for two webinars being held in September, hosted by the GP Excellence programme.

Crisis situations and how to deal with them – 9.30am-11am, Wednesday 25 September

This one-and-a-half-hour session will take you through the challenging situations and the legal consequences you would never expect to happen but somehow have.

From how to handle staff members who have stolen or taken drugs/alcohol at work to other illegal or immoral situations you have to legally work with to ensure the practice still runs smoothly.

This includes dealing with PIPOTs (Person in position of trust orders), whistleblowers, taking witness statements and when to involve authorities such as CQC, the police, and safeguarding.

This session will be a safe space to share experiences and ask questions during the Q&A at the end. It is suitable for anyone in a management position.

Finance quick wins – 2.30pm-3.30pm, Friday 27 September

This one-hour session will assist new managers, or those who are more experienced but wish to make sure they are not missing anything, with quick hints and tips to ensure you are working through all areas of finance, both making money and saving money.

Suitable for practice managers, finance managers, PCN managers and assistant managers.

Luan is a practice manager with 15 years’ experience in general practice and Primary Care Network (PCN) management and has been delivering webinars in partnership with the GP Excellence programme for some time. She is also a mentor for various NHS providers, a professional associate for the Local Medical Committee (LMC) and a peer appraiser.

Attendees will receive the presentation slides and resources shortly after the webinars and both sessions will be repeated throughout the year if you can’t make these dates.

Please ensure you can use your camera and microphone during the webinars.
