Primary care providers can benefit from ‘highly commended’ wellbeing training

Summary

New dates have been released for 2026.

An acclaimed training course has released new dates, specifically for the primary care workforce.

The Greater Manchester Primary Care Provider Board’s Being Well: Leadership Training Programme is suitable for community pharmacy, dentistry, general practice and optometry providers in Greater Manchester.

The free training course is based on a national NHS programme that was ‘highly commended’ in the 2026 Health Service Journal awards in the workforce and wellbeing initiative category.

It has been tailored by the PCB to specifically appeal to leaders, aspiring leaders and those with a responsibility for wellbeing in the primary care workplace.

The programme includes two modules which focus on how wellbeing is a ‘must’ rather than a ‘nice to have’, and that investing the time to improve staff wellbeing is a form of prevention.

Session one presents the case for staff wellbeing and looking after yourself. It will explain why building staff wellbeing through leadership is a uniquely effective approach, offering practical approaches to build leaders’ own wellbeing.

Session two focuses on how to lead wellbeing and look after your teams, using behaviours that create and support healthy workplace cultures that build wellbeing in teams. This session will explain what leaders can practically do to lead culture change and engage teams in developing their wellbeing.

Those who have attended the course said it was ‘very informative’ and something they would ‘definitely use’.

It also ‘highlights the benefits of having wellbeing at the heart of an organisation’s plan, which will help to create a great culture’.

Participants are invited to select one date from each session to complete the course:
