Tameside GP practice shares its quality improvement methods on a national webinar

Summary

Staveleigh Medical Practice improved patient experience after receiving GPIP support.

A Tameside GP practice was featured on a national webinar aimed at supporting Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) to include general practice improvement work in their system plans.

Staveleigh Medical Practice was highlighted as a successful case study on an NHS England webinar in January.

The practice took part in the General Practice Improvement Programme’s (GPIP) practice level support offer in 2024/25, and the case study highlights how it introduced new processes to improve patient experience.

The case study was presented by Staveleigh GP, Dr Grace Choi.

As a result of the support, delivered by Qualitas Consortium on behalf of NHS Greater Manchester, the practice improved how it manages demand and capacity, standardised its care navigation and triage processes, introduced self-booking links for patients, improved the use of care plans for patients who needed more support, and streamlined its workflow processes.

You can read how Staveleigh reduced waiting times for routine appointments and increased patient satisfaction in the full case study on the PCB website.

The case study also features on NHS Futures, along with other examples of how practices are grasping the Modern General Practice model through quality improvement (QI) methods.
