Webinar focusing on primary care finance

Summary

PCNs interested in a ‘whistle-stop tour of primary care finance’ can book to attend a webinar with Marina Muirhead this March.

A popular session focusing on PCN finances will take place via MS Teams on Thursday 14 March, from 2pm to 4.30pm.

Aimed at PCN Managers and Clinical Directors, the ‘PCNs – Whistle-stop tour of primary care finance’, facilitated by Marina Muirhead of Primary Care Commissioning (PCC) is now available to book.

This session is part of the PCB’s ongoing PCN development programme, so if you attended Marina’s session in person at The Studio on 14 September 2023, there is no need to attend this online version.

PCC is an independent, not-for-profit social enterprise that supports the development of health and care services; providing specialist advice with a focus on primary care, events, flexible expert support, and personal and team development services.

The session will provide an overview of:

  • PCN finance
  • PCN DES
  • Setting up structure
  • National funding streams
  • Awareness of systems and portals
  • Getting paid for what’s needed and reconciled
  • Economies of scale – for example, bulk buying

Marina is a former CEO and at-scale provider of primary and community care, a former CCG Director of Primary Care and NHS England Head of Primary Care.

She has extensive experience of health care management at senior operational and strategic levels and has worked on major transformational initiatives across multiple providers, mainly focussed on GP services and primary care.
