Summary
Join an informative session on 29 January and check PCB website for updated guides to help you through the process.
Community pharmacies are encouraged to attend a webinar on the changes to the ordering of repeat medication through the NHS App.
The webinar, on Wednesday 29 January, will provide details on the new Patient-Led Ordering (PLO) initiative in Greater Manchester.
It will cover the GM roll-out and implementation plan, the benefits for pharmacies and patients, and how community pharmacies can work with GP practices to support patients through this change.
Representatives from the Medicines Optimisation Teams, NHS Greater Manchester and Community Pharmacy Greater Manchester (CPGM) will be on hand to answer any questions and there will be examples of best practice and support resources from CPGM.
The event takes place from 7.30pm to 9pm via MS Teams.
More information about PLO is available on the CPGM website.
The PCB website has been updated with a series of guides to help you through the process. These have been refreshed recently and include, where possible, both Word and PDF versions of the latest documents, such as a process flowchart, an activity planner, Equality Impact Assessment (EIA), Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and communications toolkit.
The guides have been produced in collaboration with the PCB, Community Pharmacy Provider Board (CPPB), General Practice Provider Board (GPB) and NHS GM.
The date when changes come into effect will vary according to each practice, and they should inform patients at least 12 weeks in advance by text, email or letter.
