Webinars to support GP practices

Summary

A further series of general practice webinars for 2025/06 have been released by the GP Excellence programme.

The PCB’s GP Excellence programme has released a further series of general practice webinars for 2025/06.

Delivered in partnership with experienced trainer Luan Stewart, the webinars will run on various dates from July 2025 until February 2026.

The webinars will cover the following topics: business continuity, finance quick wins (with focus on GMS statements), responding well to conflict (for front-line staff) and responding well to conflict (for managers).

Business continuity

This one-hour session will give you the tools to produce a high-quality business continuity plan which will aid with CQC safe domain areas and ensure that you have the tools to hand to assist with safety concerns.

The webinar will also include updates on general practice’s role in Martyn’s Law.

Finance quick wins (with a focus on GMS statements)

This one-and-a-half-hour session will give you the time and understanding to work through the General Medical Services (GMS) Statement of Financial Entitlements, look at ways to improve the practice finances with ‘quick wins’ and how to navigate Primary Care Support England (PCSE)’s role in practice finance.

Please note, participants are required bring a copy of their GMS statement to the training session to work through it.

Responding well to conflict (for front-line staff)

This GP and practice manager-led online training is designed for non-clinical frontline staff in general practice.

The interactive session will cover common sources of patient conflict and provide practical tools for de-escalation and managing the emotional impact.

Responding well to conflict (for managers)

This session will explore effective ways to support your staff when they face conflict in the workplace, including instances of abuse from patients.

It will also cover the contractual obligations and practical steps involved in managing abusive or violent patients.
