Workshop for healthcare professionals ahead of changes to childhood immunisation programme

You can learn more about the changes that come into effect from 1 January, 2026.

Healthcare colleagues are invited to an online workshop about the changes to the childhood immunisation schedule, which start from 1 January 2026.

The workshop is suitable for Greater Manchester colleagues working in primary care, health visiting and community teams.

Organised by the Greater Manchester Screening and Immunisation Team, the session will provide further detail about the changes, with a chance to ask questions.

Each session takes place from 1pm to 1.45pm and you can select one of the following dates. The link will allow you to join on the day of your choice:

Following the start of the new schedule on 1 January, there will be a further workshop to answer any questions. Again, these will be from 1pm to 1.45pm:

The new NHS routine childhood vaccination programme will include the introduction of a varicella vaccination using a combined measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV) vaccine. 

Resources to support the programme will become available, including a range of materials in one place to support healthcare professionals, such as signposting to training materials and patient leaflets as well as communications materials to support queries and conversations with patients.

There’s also a national webinar hosted by UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), with key spokespeople from UKHSA and NHSE on Wednesday 3 December at 2pm
