Summary
The Primary Care Wellbeing Leadership Programme returns with new dates in May and June.
New dates have been released for a free health and wellbeing training course aimed specifically at primary care leaders.
The Primary Care Wellbeing Leadership Programme, delivered by Greater Manchester Primary Care Provider Board (GMPCB), will help managers and leaders improve the health and wellbeing of the primary care workforce – across community pharmacy, dentistry, general practice and optometry.
Around 60 colleagues have completed all four modules of the training over recent months, and two more programmes are set to run in May and June.
Programme 1
Module 1 and 2: Tuesday 27 May, 1pm to 3pm
Module 3 and 4: Tuesday 10 June, 1pm to 3pm
Programme 2:
Module 1 and 2: Wednesday 4 June, 10am to 12 noon
Module 3 and 4: Wednesday 18 June, 10am to 12 noon
Originally set over four weeks, the programme is now delivered over two weeks.
Participants say they have re-prioritised wellbeing after completing the course. Comments include:
- “My priorities towards wellbeing have definitely risen after attending the four modules”
- “It has always been at the top of my priorities. By participating in this programme my dedication to improving overall wellbeing has further strengthened and also streamlined, as now I have the tools to achieve my desired goals”
- “I’ll be dedicating my next quality improvement project to staff wellbeing within my practice”
Research shows that the wellbeing of leaders influences that of the workforce, which directly impacts on patient care, experiences and outcomes.
This course will demonstrate the importance of prioritising staff wellbeing in the NHS, explain why building staff wellbeing through leadership is an effective approach, deliver practical ways for leaders to build their own wellbeing, and suggest approaches for engaging teams in their wellbeing in order to improve patient outcomes.
