Could you be a peer ambassador for new NHSE Primary Care Transformation Academy?

Summary

NHS England is seeking to recruit a number of clinical peer ambassadors across each Integrated Care System (ICS) to support the continued adoption of Modern General Practice.

Clinical colleagues from all primary care disciplines are invited to apply.

To accelerate the implementation of Modern General Practice, NHS England (NHSE) has launched a new national Primary Care Transformation Academy.

The aim of the academy is to bring together a number of clinicians from across the country who have experience of leading on the delivery of Modern General Practice in their own locality.

The clinicians, or peer ambassadors, will draw on their own experience from general practice or a Primary Care Network (PCN) to support others to take forward the necessary changes to implement modern general practice. Members of the academy will meet quarterly to provide peer support, share learning and influence strategic direction for primary care.

Clinical colleagues from pharmacy, dentistry and optometry are also encouraged to apply as NHSE plan to develop academies for these disciplines in the near future.

Further information about the programme can be found in this letter from Luvjit Kandula, chair of Greater Manchester Primary Care Provider Board, and Professor Manisha Kumar, chief medical officer at NHS Greater Manchester, which was recently circulated to primary care colleagues.

If you are interested in becoming a peer ambassador, please send an Expression of Interest (EOI) to england.primarycaretransformation@nhs.net. Further questions or queries can also be directed to the same email address.

Closing date for EOIs is 5pm on Friday 26 April, 2024.
