New health and wellbeing training for primary care leaders

Summary

Learn how to build your own wellbeing and engage your teams for better patient outcomes.

Places are available for a new, free training course to improve the health and wellbeing of the primary care workforce.

The Primary Care Wellbeing Leadership Programme consists of four one-hour modules, suitable for managers and leaders across all primary care disciplines.

Research shows that the wellbeing of leaders influences that of the workforce, which directly impacts on patient care, experiences and outcomes.

This course will demonstrate the importance of prioritising staff wellbeing in the NHS, explain why building staff wellbeing through leadership is a uniquely effective approach, deliver practical ways for leaders to build their own wellbeing, and suggest approaches for engaging teams in their wellbeing in order to improve patient outcomes.

Dates are available between January and March, across two separate cohorts.

The first cohort starts on January 22, with subsequent modules held on 29 January, 5 February and 12 February.

The second cohort kicks off in March, with modules held on 6, 13, 20 and 27 March. Each module is via MS Teams from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.

There is some flexibility if you can’t make a particular date. For example, if you sign up to cohort one but can’t attend one of the modules, you may be able to attend the same module in the second cohort depending on availability.

The NHS programme was piloted nationally in 2022/23, and Greater Manchester Primary Care Provider Board (GMPCB) is rolling it out across the city region to primary care providers in community pharmacy, dentistry, general practice and optometry.

The PCB recently piloted the training with managers from general practice and has now opened it up to all providers.

Places are limited, so please register for your preferred cohort:
