Summary
GP Excellence Programme will deliver interactive training to non-clinical frontline colleagues between June 2025 and February 2026.
An interactive training session for non-clinical colleagues working in general practice is back for 2025/26, due to popular demand.
The Responding Well To Conflict training has been tailored by GPs and practice managers, in collaboration with the GP Excellence Programme, specifically for non-clinical frontline staff.
Four dates have been released throughout the year and each session is divided into two sections.
Part one focuses on the daily interactions frontline colleagues face when dealing with patients, exploring why conflict may arise even when everything is being handled appropriately.
The second part provides practical tools to help de-escalate conflicts and minimise the psychological impact they can have.
Feedback from previous sessions on the topic include: “It made issues we face at our practice more relatable” and “I learned more about understanding behaviours and how medical conditions can present as conflict.”
You can register now for your place on the following dates. All sessions are held via MS Teams:
- Monday 2 June, 2pm to 4.30pm
- Thursday 25 September, 2pm to 4.30pm
- Thursday 27 November, 2pm to 4.30pm
- Thursday 12 February 2026, 2pm to 4.30pm
In addition, managers can attend a Responding Well To Conflict – Supporting Your Team webinar with experienced trainer and practice manager Luan Stewart.
This session will explore effective ways to support your staff when they face conflict in the workplace, including instances of abuse from patients.
It will also cover the contractual obligations and practical steps involved in managing abusive or violent patients.
Designed specifically for managers working in general practice, you can choose from two dates:
