Primary care leaders invited to a health literacy awareness session

Summary

The online event will explain the importance of improving patients’ understanding of health information and services.

Senior leaders within primary care are invited to an online awareness session, to embed health literacy in their organisation.

Health literacy is about improving the understanding of health information and services, so patients can make informed decisions.

The Health Literacy Awareness webinar has been organised by NHS Greater Manchester’s population health team, and features Dr Mike Oliver, Health Psychologist and founder of Health Literacy Matters.

Please register via MS Teams for the session on Wednesday 11 February, from 10am to 11am.

Aimed at senior leaders, the session will reinforce your understanding of what health literacy is, why it is so important, and help you embed a health literate approach in your organisation.

The awareness session will prepare you for a face-to-face event on 19 March, which will explore further how you can become a health-literate organisation.

Invites for the March event will follow, after session one has been completed.
