With Remembrance Sunday approaching, GP practices are being invited to become accredited as ‘veteran friendly’.
The RCGP (Royal College of General Practitioners) and NHS England are helping practices to deliver the best possible care for patients who have served in the armed forces.
Practices will receive free online training, support with identifying veteran patients and advice on referrals.
Becoming a ‘veteran friendly’ accredited practice helps to raise awareness, improve understanding, and help GPs in their duty of care to veterans.
After becoming accredited, 84% of practices said they feel they have a better understanding of veterans’ needs.
