Summary
Register now for November or December dates.
New dates for the Greater Manchester Primary Care Provider Board’s (GMPCB) Being Well: Leadership Training Programme are available over the next few months.
Anyone working in community pharmacy, dentistry, general practice and optometry in Greater Manchester can book onto the two-part course between November and March.
However, the training is particularly helpful for practices involved in the Beyond Core Contract (BeCCoR) GP incentive scheme.
As part of the BeCCoR’s Quality and Sustainability section, one of the aspirational targets requires practices to have a plan for creating an attractive place to work, and for retaining and developing staff in the longer term, including staff health and wellbeing.
The Being Well: Leadership Training Programme supports this by offering practical approaches to build wellbeing through leadership, then explains how people can lead culture change and engage teams in their own wellbeing.
It also signposts attendees to a range of workforce wellbeing resources, including the NHS People Promise in Primary Care, which is referenced in the BeCCoR specification.
The free training course is based on a national NHS programme that was ‘highly commended’ in the 2026 Health Service Journal awards in the workforce and wellbeing initiative category.
GMPCB has adapted the training specifically for the Greater Manchester primary care workforce.
Participants should select one date from each session to complete the course:
Session 1: The case for staff wellbeing and looking after yourself
Session 2: Leading wellbeing and looking after your teams
